Understand yourself.
Transform everything else.
Where evidence-based psychology meets high performance and personal growth.
There’s no generic way to Optimise
Performance focus. Coaching momentum. Psychological depth.
Optimise is a psychology-informed approach to coaching, performance and personal development, designed to help you understand yourself more deeply and use that understanding to create meaningful change and growth in real life.
Together, we identify what matters, what you want to develop or move towards and, where relevant, what may be getting in the way, then focus on what is most likely to help you move forward.
We are all shaped by a unique combination of experiences, relationships, strengths, challenges, biology, environment and the lives we are living now.
That's why Optimise doesn't begin with a formula for what you should do differently. It begins with understanding you, how your particular system works and what is most relevant to where you want to go.
Change can begin in different places
You might come to Optimise with a clear sense of what you want to achieve, or simply a feeling that something could be different. You may want to build on what is already working, understand yourself more deeply, or move beyond a pattern that is holding you back.
Something you want to grow
A capacity, ambition, relationship, role or part of yourself that you want to develop further.
Something you want to change
A pattern, situation or way of responding that isn't working as well as you would like.
Something getting in the way
You know where you want to go, but something repeatedly seems to limit your ability to get there.
Something you want to understand
Perhaps nothing is obviously wrong. You're curious about yourself, how you operate, or what might be possible next.
The whole picture matters.
We don't experience different parts of ourselves in isolation. How we think can affect how we feel. Our relationships can shape how we perform. Our environment can influence our behaviour. Our bodies affect our minds and our past experiences can shape how we respond in the present.
Optimise draws on a broad foundation of evidence-based psychology to understand these connections. Rather than focusing narrowly on the thing you want to change, we stay curious about the wider picture and about what is most relevant to you.
One way of thinking about this is as a kaleidoscope. Each part of your life and experience sits alongside many others. A change in one area can alter how other parts of the picture look and feel.
At different times, different elements come into view. The aim isn't to analyse everything, but to understand enough of the picture to know where attention could make the greatest difference.
Sometimes that means looking at what is happening now. Sometimes it means looking ahead. And sometimes moving forward means looking back at something that is still shaping the present.
The Kaleidoscope - Shift one piece and the whole picture can change.
The aim isn't to understand everything. It's to understand what matters.
Understanding, applied to what matters.
Optimise is grounded in psychology, but its value lies in what that insight makes possible in everyday life.
What that looks like will be different for everyone.

Why Optimise?
Optimise grew from the recognition that psychological understanding isn't only valuable when we're trying to address a problem. It can also help us grow, perform, make decisions and move towards something that matters.
Katie developed Optimise to bring that depth into the world of performance and personal development, combining rigorous psychological understanding with forward momentum and practical application.
Katie brings doctoral-level training and research in psychology, extensive experience working directly with people, and a wider background spanning coaching, education, business, training and facilitation.
A consistent thread through her work has been translating psychological knowledge into practical application. This has included recognising the potential for technology to better support psychological practice and developing Bilateral Base, a digital resource for EMDR practitioners that grew from an initial idea into a business and is now used by practitioners around the world.
